Once Upon An Easel
“Once Upon an Easel” collection began with an entry into the Homage to Film Exhibit at the Artists in Middleburg Gallery. In anticipation of the Middleburg Film Festival, the gallery announced a juried show to accompany that event. I immediately began thinking of possibilities. Wizard of Oz is perhaps my favorite film of all times. I began imagining and painting the creation of my own Tin Woodsman. The piece was well received. I had so much fun painting this character, that I continued with the Scarecrow, Lion, and Dorothy Wearing Her Green Lenses. From here the collection grew to other familiar characters in children’s literature.
